SAGEHEN CREEK PROJECT PO BOX 938 TRUCKEE, CALIFORNIA 95734 (8) From the turn off from Hwy 89 follow the level dirt road in for 1.7 miles. The station is the cluster of red buildings w/ green roofs. (7) After crossing Sagehen Cr. you immediately begin to climb. This section of the road has two prominent curves in it. At the top of the grade (actually just this far of it) the Sagehen Road comes into Hwy 89 on the left. The road has no sign labling it. Just beyond the turnoff to Sagehen also on the left, is the satiation garage. (6) Like the other two creeks, you also approach Sagehen Cr. from a longish straight piece of road on a down grade w/ the creek at the bottom. There is no sign labling Sagehen Cr. but the road is only a few feet above the water and you can see it on both sides of the road. (5) You now begin to climb again and finally reach a flat area on top of the ridge. There is a little brown sign on the left side of the road pointing to Sagehen Hills. From this point you start down a grade which crosses over Sagehen Creek. (4) There is a long straight stretch on the approach to Prosser Creek. This Creek is labled and there is a definite bridge that you cross over. The country on both sides of the road is flatish at this creek. (3) There is a brown sign labling Alder Cr. but the road is so high over the creek that you do not really realize that you are crossing a creek. (2) This is a long straight stretch in the road (1) Turn off Interstate 80 onto Calif. Hwy 89. at the Quincey turnoff. Continue north on Hwy. 89. Mileage between junction with Interstate 80 and Sagehen Rd. is 7.9 miles.
