Rogers' catalogue) Cordoba to Ojo de Aguas, Veracruz, Mexico ecember Arose ~0630. Packed car, ate breakfast and left hotel, heading W. of Cordoba on Hwy 150. About 2-3 mi. W of town, turned N on rd. leading to Potrero Viejo. Directions to Ojo de Aguas (source of River Atoyac) are as follows: 1.4 midtown rd. to Potrero, turn L (toward town of California), 0.0 at turn for Ojo de Aguas - .3 = railroad crossing, .5 = sharp curve to right, .6 - take right fork, 1.7 - take straight rd. on 3way intersection; 1.9 - take right fork, 2.1 - turn L on larger dirt rd; 2.9 - take L fork; 3.9 - Ojo de Aguas = dead end in rd. Arrived ~0940. Explored the area for about an hour, then began setting traps. Day is sunny, cloud cover gradually increasing throughout afternoon. Cool, midday T° ~25°C. Ojo de Agua is in an area at the edge of a plain heavily used for agriculture - mostly sugarcane. The low mountains are covered with mature forest - slopes moderately steep ~45°, very rocky - which comes down to the river and borders the cane fields. I set 80 traps here, as did Duke. First line is in a very rocky hillside, then in the secondary growth alongside the trail leading from the rd. to the spring.
