finding a place to have a beer. We finally had a meal - and a few beers to cool off. We are now considerably lower in elevation than on the plateau - the temperatures are correspondingly higher.
1630 checked into the Hotel Bel-Air on the main road just north of town. I showered, John slept.
1630 drove to set traps for Lionys (again). Monte Alban was a known locality for Lionys (Genoways 1973) so we returned up the road towards the ruins. We set out 100 shermans in the arid, thorn scrub vegetation on a hillside S of the road about ½ mi. from the actual ruins. I found a marsupial skull, probably Didephis sp. as we descended the hillside just after sunset. Warm, clear night. Many fireflies about. We drove back to our motel and relaxed for the evening.
