[23 June] both 0707 and 44, are fairly abundant,
but only 1 nest thus far. Checked
the owl nest - still sitting on 4 eggs.
With that - had to rush in for lunch.
On the way, saw no sign of the tangloft
site jaeger.
After lunch - drove out to trapline
3A-3B with Don and Tom. While
Don took 300 samples I made a
quick tour of the 10th Area since
lata, with results about as this morning.
a flock of o7pectordals came by, but
disappeared after I returned for the
shotgun. Drove Don back to the
lab and exchanged him for Mary
Shields - here to observe owls for
Gessaman. Then drove back to Village
Ridge. Owls are still numerous there -
c.a. 10 in sight or once - but no nesting.
Birds were mostly in the lee of mounds
trying to stay warm.
Checked the alpine nest - now 4
eggs. Found a 1-egg golden Plower
nest! On the ridge - no baird or semi-pal!
Walked the area in a cold wind with occasional
blowing snow, then returned to the
weasel. Found Tom sitting in the back
of the weasel - his enthusiasm is not
