14 June] I detoured around Voth Creek and drove to N. end of Footprint lake. this is largely filled with water and slush now to a depth of about 12". Saw a flock of ca. 140 Pin tails on Voth Slough, and 12 more or pano just N W of footprint. Shorebirds about as before - scarce. Drove back to Gasline Ridge and then to Micro Mer. Saw and heard white-rumps. Hedra a knot over Gasline Ridge. A newly arrived group of 10-12 piedtorels was feeding and beginning to act up in sloping marsh N. of Micro-Mer. took a few feeding observations, found a 3-egg alpina nest, but mostly introduced Dan to local turnava and watched birds.
Sent our weasel in for repair in the afternoon, then got Dan started on equipment he will need. Removed animals from berlese collecting jars - so far 12 Pedicia, 3 Tipula, 6 annelids.
