17 August Barrow, Alaska
A sudden peculiar switch in the
weather - the temperature went above
60°F. today! with mild wind. WE
worked in shirt sleeves.
Spent the morning finishing up the
loan and yesterday's specimens. Just
after lunch the Wien finally got a
plane out of Fairbanks, and the Cape
crew departed en masse, leaving our
dab looking not unlike Fairbanks after
their disaster. Counted and cleaned the
remaining tanglefoots, then went out with
Tom. Changed Tanglefoot I, dropped
him at lines III & VIII for to pick these
up, changed site II, then walked to
tlarge enclosure at North end of P's Plot
to repair that (as requested in a letter from
P.) And that was the afternoon.
Home for dinner, then lay down for
a while. Wake up at 4:30 AM.

Got up early! Tom took the
wessel out to check traps, so I spent
the morning cleaning up the mess in
the lab and writing notes to get caught
up again, then picked 8 of the mesic funna
