MacLenn 1967 Journal 30 July of the season. Took a good number of feeling observations, then changed the boards. Afterwards found 2 pustills; took observations and photographed these, than drove on to site II and made the change there. Again - pectorals and semipale in the marsh; red-backs and plovers on the ridge. Still plenty of insect activity evident on the ridge, although the tanglefeet are still going down. Spent the evening processing birds with Esna. Stomach collection is up to 50 now. 31 July Barrow, Alaska Spent the morning finishing up backlog of birds plus some red-backs that Tom brought in. After lunch drove to Blooting Station, then up spit toward Nuvuk with Don, Tom, and Don Kangas. Large flocks of Sabine gulls and Arctic terns have gathered along the spit. Got good (I hope) pictures of a Sabine gull and an immature kittiwake that, for some reason, refuses to fly until actually touched (Don caught it by hand). Collected 1 kittiwake. Many jelly fish were washing through the breach in the spit. Kangas made a plankton haul there - caught
