MacLean 1967 Journal 25 July Tide came in while we were South of Wohlslag, raising the water to a dangerous level. Had to go West, around Central Marsh Creek, and in by Microvler. Few birds in the Marsh; a few plowers and red-backs along the ridge N. of the fertilizer plot. In the afternoon sloshed through transects NE of So. Meadow Lakes and Gasline Ridge. In the evening returned to their area with Edna to complete the transects there. Saw a small flock of melanotes in ponds troughs on Gasline Ridge; otherwise, all quiet. 26 July Barrow, Alaska More good weather to finish up the transects. Dan and I are exhausted and coming down with colds, but the lines - 32 of them - are done. In the morning went to Holmes' Morass. Lots of alpina and Pluvialis there- feeding along ridge and megictuma. In the afternoon - 3 transects in Central Marsh to finish up. Grabbed 16 soo cores from the Marsh, then collected 4 melanotes from a flock of about 30 feeding along the road. Spent the evening passed our .... burqooo. 32 transect
