Otto G Dague By-2nd Nat Gas & Oil Co. 50 gaslamps for illuminating Clairport street, for $1.60 per year. Contract made middle of June, anno for 5 years. Gas is secured now from well on north of Clary Creek in west sidey creek, Drilled about 18 years ago, 920 ft. Need then gaspe line to Clairports? This will have been reduced to $15 a month when taken holding by Otto Dague. Water pumped off the well at the grist mill, which has been dead 2 years, about 1700 ft down the river, in the tanks. Water Drilled and cleaned out now clear to the pressure. The best result was to increase the flow of the well at the mouth of Clary Creek, while now produces enough to supply $160 a monthly gas in place of $15- co at first. They have just cleaned out & re-cored the well at the Oile Factory drilled in 1891, dead over 2 years, so that they seem have plenty of gas probably enough to run the entire plant, but at least enough to fire 2 boilers.
