At Holts station face of Waldron 5 ft above R.R., at Clermont station face Waldron is 12 ft above R.R. Geologic layer at both Clermont & Holts stations. Blue clay layer 18 in, Beyond limestone, 2 ft exposed. (41) At bridge 4, E of Holts the middling Wal- dron is at track level. (40) At bridge 5, S of Holts the top of Waldron is 4 feet below R.R., 16 feet of Lamin- sville stone, forms determinative at me, an exposed just before reaching the bridge. East of bridge 5 the tip of Laurel is oolitic, Strophomena with distant jefications & flat madre. Spirifera with deep jefica. Trims, Whitfield's retida. Top of Waldron about on R.R. level at face E of bridge Black shale on Corniferous (2 ft Conf. see) on Laminville (1½ feet!) (39 cut.) Black shale as far as Cave Spring. Station, at Station Corniferous is 5 ft below R.R. level; (39) Nolen line creek James Honeydew. 23½ ft Osgood clay, purple color, in a little quarry, down creek from home, enters my creek from S.E. Chert m. Orthis flabellata common, 6 ft 8 in below Osgood Clay is silicious, blue rock. Orthis flabellata common 7 ft 2 in below. Beyond clay is crinoidal the rock, 2½ feet below Osgood Clay is very chert. with Favosites favonsa & Orthis flabell. To Stroph. with raised leaf flat. When the road leaves the creek & turns west to Cave Spring at the crinoidal Chert in is 8-9 m. thick. Below is Waldron. Banded fossils.
