70 Nuttalls Woodpecker D. nuttallii 397 1891 Apr.2 Have found two new nests but no eggs. May 6 - Several nests, see stubs. (frr 394a) 1894, dec.24. Saw one. Spring Brook. dec.26 Saw another " (sphyrapicus ruber) Red-breasted Woodpecker. or s. superciliaris Breast yellow, with darker sides. Nov. 7 Shotamp. in walnuts. D.V. nuttalis except belly very yellowish. Side of head black band around red crown narrow, white streak above eye. Black bar across eye. broad white bar below eye and black streak along sides of red chin. Blackish between chin & breast. probably D.[illegible] shot aside. 189 Nov. [illegible] Took 2.
