15 orig, labeled left at n/2 #4242 American Coot. (Fulica americana). 22/ 189/ 1/24 5/26 Saw one today on the "Big Hole." Recd. eggs from Maynard, which he collected at San Jacinto Lake. 1894. Dec.7. They have been abundant at the dam and above in Spring Brook ever since the dam was put in a couple of years ago. {and} The chin is pure yellow, throat {warty} black and streak across breast yellow. Back streaked with black and some white. More yel. crown. Top of neck lead color or bluish not brown. Large white wing patch. L. 5.88, St. 9.00 Wg.2.95, tl.2.30. S. andubari.
