Armillaria alphitophylla Berk 1860 Pileus convex expanded with a slight depression 4.5 cm in diameter surface moist to slightly glutinous but not viscid dotted with darker pyramidal groups of hairs, suggesting a Lepista, bone brown to olive brown, lighter on disc; flesh thin white disappearing at margin which is white appendiculate otherwise smooth; lamellae white slightly ventricose synuate [illegible] with decurrent tooth thick waxy distant; stipe cartilaginous hollow stuffed white even with slightly bulbous base silky slightly sulcate above, no trace of annulus Approximates Hygrophorus variolosus and Armillaria alphitophylla except stipe hollow stuffed and lamellae not branched. From stipe etc it ought to belong in Collybia. 4318 Parque Bolivar San Jose C.R. on base of dead fence post. Sept 17, 1929
