Fructifications growing from stump cut off at surface of soil and more or less covered with mud. Caespitose [habit of Tremellodendron pallidum] Fructifications up to 2.5cm tall, dirty white. Context hygrophanous spongy becoming very thin at tips, flabelliform branching. wavy white compact Hymenium confined to lower side, and not on the stipe, continuous. Apparently never strictly daedaloid, but fruiting surface consisting of irregular irpiciform plates and teeth pushing up the smooth hymenium [Hence not to be placed in Polyporaceae, seems to be a distinct genus as a merismatoid Phlebia or analogous to Polyporus dichrous of Polyporaceae. Related sp. might be found in tropical sp. of Irpex but quite distinct from polyporoid Irpex of temperate regions.] Context of coarse loosely woven hyphae 2-4µ basidia 4 spored clavate 17-18 x 4-5µ sterigmata long 4-5µ spores hyaline 4-6 x 3-4µ
