North of Amick's Run is 3½ mi from Vanceburg. Martins is 10 miles from Vanceburg. Where road turns off to Carr is 8 miles from Vanceburg. Rome sheet crossing = 60 ft above present river level = 525-60 = 465=river level at present. Low water is about 2 or 3 feet lower. Run, 3½ mi N, then up East Fork ¾ mi on Norrisdy Creek; opposite house on SE side. West Union in situ. First seen in Creek bed but where West Union it comes in is unknown. 675 shut. 1 mile up East Fork, several hundred yards NE of last house on Norrisdy creek, up stream climb in map. Black shale at 730 but Clinton age not exposed here. SW of last house in SE side, East Fork a little down creek from last house West Union up to 712. or 12 ft above The level of the house here meantime. Top of Clintonage + Black shale contact at. 735 ft. Clintonage face at 725 or below. 87 House ½ mi up East Fork, on Norrisdy creek. West Union base & outcrops extend exposed opposite house on SE side, creek about 14 feet above house line = 674 ft approx. but union estimated at 50 ft at least partly should be much thicker, owing to eastward dip of strike line. Pantony, up west branch of Stut creek a little over 1 mile, Since gained West Union at 640 about. Came way up west branch of Stut creek 1¼ mi. My house in Whiteforkal 8 ft Clintonage greenish shale <753 25 ft in total. <728 38½ ft. West Union top. House 1½ mi from Pantonyville up west branch. If I have gained whited creek which way be Monroe, about 20 put below house where road turns off NW from creek up hill. Top of Monroe? Here = 745 about. Pantonyville, up south branch Blue Creek was exactly 1 mile. West Union in creek bed at 620 about. Massive West Union at 640 at 1¼ mi N of Pantony.
