From Fair Haven, 2 mi E, then 2/3 mi S and east 1/8 mile to farm house. Brassfield at 10:05 USGS. Neklem shows up in creek along road northward at 997 = creek bend. M.J Brassfield at 10:33 former trip. Brassfield not exposed this trip. Muttenville, 6 pressure km W, bridge on pike. 965 USGS = top of clays which are jammed full of fossils. Nekeloc, + Rafinesquina, hyrzams. From Sugar Valley 3/4 mi S, 1/3 mi E, 1/3 mi E. Pentameros apparently at 10:27 USGS. Actual exposures in creek did look like rock immediately below Pen-tameros at Ridley Point, N of Fair Haven, and the Pentameros occurs immediately above apparently. Pentamerus found loose (in blocks) at top of actual exposure. Magle Barre Church 4 mi SE of Eaton. On R + S road, 1/2 mi each way: white l. over Brassfield about Brassfield at two point immediate S J crossroads, about 955 USGS. West end of West Elkton. 6 1/2 ft of whitish limestone layers one to three inches thick, inter-bedded with whitish clay, the clay predominate at base = Cent Orchard clay shale. 1 ft. Several white l., like that above, in layers 2 to 3 in deep thick = Daytal equivalent. The rock is very finely grained, white and chalky, and does not look like Daytal. No fossils seen. Brassfield top with calcite nodules. Rock rather roughly bedded. 10 ft opened. Original thickness may have been greater. A quarter of a mile W by Kenworthy school; the top of The Brassfield at 10:20 USGS is overlaid by local Niagaran fine-grained limestone. Half a mile W by Kenworthy School, 10 feet of Brassfield is exposed. Total unknown. Half a mile S of Bakes School. Brassfield up to 1040 at road corner (1042). Base of Brassfield probably at 1030 USGS.
