38 On the west side of the road bra, where the road begins to rise again. Between a ledge on the west side of the road and a little shed on the right side is an outcrop, almost concealed by the road dust. Strike Magnetic N 22 to 25 E dip 80N, it will be noticed that this strike and dip correspond much better to a continuation of the contact line between the Archaean and the Cambrian from locality 32 to a point just west of the road or mines; than to a bend of the contact line along the road in ward curve as suggested by the published geological map of the state. The exposures here are chiefly black ish shale, with a little massive limestone on the east, but under- neathly blue Cambrian limestone. Plenty of limestones lie west of this ex- posure on the R.R. tracks. The contact line lies therefore east of here.
