27 East of middle of Buckerside Road, shed on E side of a knoll. Strike Magnetic N 70 E, dip. 70 E. It will be observed that in this case again we have a deviat- tion from the last experience as to strike, but that the continuation of the present strike will again bring the next exposure or the roots (nearly) in line, especially if the base of the knoll be taken as a datum strike line. The rock is a considerable weathering ferru- ginous on the West. More like limestone top of the knoll and a slaty shale on the E side of the knoll. It may be remarked that slaty shales are not in- frequent in the Cambrian part of here, but as much as at No. 27 has never been before. Per- haps Sandstone was covered E of the shales and are now covered up in the low valley E of the knoll. After this was writ- 3/7
