Shelly limestone near bottom of Muddy creek, 2 miles N.E. Cumptown. "Limestone and shales" Probably Clinton. John R. Procter. Of a dark mottled grey color, generally quite friable; some portions are compact. 2190. Impure limestone, top of Cumberland and shale, Upper 12 inches. From below the mill -- a dam on Muddy creek. E. Elliott in a pretty firm, fine-grained, or compact rock, of a handsome light olive grey color. 2191. Impure limestone, top of Cumberland and shale from 18 to 30 feet below the massive imp limestone of the Silurian or Muddy creek. Rather darker than the next one -- color on chips is not so that.
