130. Mr to this point I am standing with Richmond shale and then bended + opening clay rock his clay, at 130 [illegible] occurs in lower part of Amheim, Further west the Olsz sandstone in the upper part of the Amheim comes in And above this is the Richly passing forms blue clay forming the base of the Richmond my: rooms plenty. The rock was rapidly by used road, but is well laid. base of Shaly Richmond's. The left hand dip should be noted, Further west, the rock must be nearly horizontal. The Osedo- dimin showing along the leftest part of the road. Then Richmond rises up again westward. The Amheim exposure evidently is restricted to a small area along the creek at 130. 131 at 131 sudden th Black shale comes in. Probably due to faulting. 132. Chert with Am[illegible] vulmata, evidently from Denl, formally situated. The same chert wit Am [illegible] vulmata + orecis also at the bridge eastward. The same chert is exposed a-little time at the road junction. No 133. These two localities are at about the same elevation and the midley- his Richlund exposed at several localities in daylight but ups below the Devonian line it me within faulting, and the Den. Black shale which diminishes from 131 to old lines to 51 and thence westward almost as far as 132 ted ups above the Devonian line. I me situated with no faulting. 133. Den. chert with orecis. 134. Den. chert, loose location, A clayey stuff with sponge flat? B, den colored limestone, Flint Am[illegible] shale rock. A. This spring I have seen several times at back of Richmond & Strick, east + north east of Portland. B. No [illegible] seen. assumed to be Amheim at top owing to shale rock below. 25' above me to grade down turned in to a much wider mass I den colored rock from eastward, which the Amheim part appears to be- come through. 27 ft interval between clay at top with sponge flat need shale bed below. The upper 5 feet of this interval + clay stuff. The lower 23 = den colored lime, at me chiefly.
