Water in Santa Clara Canyon; vegetation purpure; fine year! Newhall to San Fernando, 7:45-8:10: Meadowlark 2; Col. Jay 2; Black-headed Grosbeak 1; Turkey Vulture 3; Cliff Swallow 1. Along Short-line, L.A. to Pasadena, the most conspicuous bird is Brewer Blackbird, about 7am; also Sinnnet 2; Mockingbird 2. Around Pasadena, chiefly on grounds at 690 E.
