around among the islands at the
head of Nitchell Bay and camped
late in the evening just above
the marrows.
- june 14 -
Got up at 3 o'clock and got off just
as the tide turned so we had no
trouble in getting three the rapids
but the water was pretty swift
by the time we got down to the
Indian village at the mouth
of the inlet, as the tide was falling
fast. On the west side of Danger
point I found a Duck Hawk
nest. It was near the top of a
cliff about 100 ft. above the
breakers. I fired 3 shots at the
hawk but didn't hurt it. We
went on down to Killiamoo and
got there about 6 o'clock in the A.M.
and found the launch was
being repaired. We made camp
over by the Indian graveyard and
and I shinned birds The rest of
the afternoon.
