The Corniferous is 9½ feet thick,
The upper 3 feet are dark
brown. The lower 6½ feet
are light blue, with chest
nodules and crinoidal
remains. The Cornifer-
ous rests directly on the
Madison. The Madison
is 26 feet thick and over-
lies the rocky fissile C
orniferous beds. The exposures
are southeast of the house.

the home of J.C. McCarty,
and a short distance
west of B.H. Edwards
the Black Shale rests on
the Corniferous at 1095.
The Corniferous is dark
brown sand and is 6¾ feet
thick. It rests directly on
5 feet of hard siliceous
shale at the top of the Low-
er Silurian. The same
Silurian rocks dip al-
moust 20 degrees north-
ward, the strike being N 70W.
No evidence of
the Onweda was seen
anywhere.

Lower Silurian rocks
are found immediate
ly northward but no
actual contacts were
seen.
