Just east of Rush Branch, in the road following south, Take the junction between The Corniferous and the Lower Silurian is at 958 184 (971) LS Half a mile eastward, a short distance beyond the point where the road ap- proaches I putts Fork, the junction between the Cor- niferous and the Lower Silurian is found at 971. The Corniferous is about 10 feet thick. The upper part is dark brown and is overlaid by the Black Shale, a little blue limestone with Lower Silurian fos- sils occurs 1 foot below the Corniferous. The typos- cal Madison rock is exposed 3 feet below the base of the Corniferous. 185 (995) LS About 1/3 miles southeast- ward, nearly 2 miles beyond Bradfordville, the junc- tion between the Corniferous and Lower Silurian is found at 9
