Boyle County - Junction City 29. Duffin's Cut. 200 RR. cut 1/5 mi. N of junction A short distance north of the railroad cut, there is a farm house east of the railroad, be- longing to Jim Shannon. On the side of the hill, below the house, towards the rail- road, the Silurian is well exposed. It was once quarried here, but the stone readily disintegrates. The fol- lowing fossils were found: Monclizmia gracilis? Pteridea demissa Acanthoclia radiata another Camellibranch Artus bifurcata Artus occidentalis Strephocrura alternata. several species of Ostrocarda. The section of Silurian here exposed is about 10 feet thick. Towards the cut is another exposure, with the same fossils, about 3 feet higher geologically. Three feet are not exposed, and the next 3 feet consist of a clayey rock, breaking
