LIBICKON 1959 It was still quite warm with a few mosquitos. July 30 We got up about 0600 + went into Culiacan. We bought some food + a couple of baskets + continued N. We saw Black-bellied tree ducks flying over Culiacan. 57 mi. S of Guamuchil we saw a small group of jacuquets which had green wings. 10 mi. further we saw a Linedated Woodpecker (this is 2 mi. S Agua Salada). 2 mi. N of Guamuchil we saw ground doves & w. w. doves. About 8 mi. S of the Los Mochis turnoff we found a large snake DOA which was black with yellow splotches on its belly, but it was in bad shape so we left it. Several miles N of the Los Mochis jet. I saw 2 large squirrels which looked like rock squirrels that were quite brown. We had lunch in Navojoa (late). 39 mi. S of the jet to Benjamin Hill the truck hit a sparrow hawk which we kept. 12 mi. N of this jet we had a good look at a Caracara; 13 mi. N of jet, is Est. Llano. It got dark between Santa Ana & Magdalena. After going through customs in Nogales we had a late snack in Nogales, Ariz. Then we continued on to Tucson, Casa Grande + toward Yuma July 31 It got light as we pulled into Yuma. We had breakfast in Holtzville + continued N to Dulce
