sets. We waited for bats & I saw 1 flying fast +
low. Also heard a few flying over large tree couldn't
see them. Also saw 15 traps in open mequite, cactus etc.
July 25
Ceddl: 26 traps in lush area - Peromyscus
pectoralis - 2, Neonotome - 1, Baiasump - 5, Perognathus
nelsoni - 1, Liomyp - 5, & Peromyscus maniculatus - 2
15 traps in open - P. maniculatus - 7 & Dipodomys
[scribble] ornatus - 1. Skinned ccdl. That evening set
out 11 traps in small canyon behind camp (quite
lush) + made 3 carnivore sets. Also set out
3 traps for Sigmodon. Saw a large Sigmodon
run into vegetation from path while setting traps.
Stung both hot bats along small canyon
when Dave had seen a number of bats flying
low last night. At dusk I saw 1 bat which sat
by foot & I didn't get a shot at it. Also heard sow
go on high again. Also skinned a big Sigmodon
while Ned had shot. Dave also saw sev. Sigmodon
+ made 3 carnivore sets.
July 26
Ceddl: Nothing in carnivore sets or Sigmodon
sets (left out 3 Sigmodon sets). & 11 traps behind
camp had 1 Sigmodon hispidus (jun.) + 1 Liomyp.
Skinned those + a Perognathus caught by Dave &
a rock squirrel shot by Ned yesterday. During
