the town where the pavement begins & which we had been calling Col. Presidente Cellos) We saw another small squirrel which looked like C. spilonura, just a half mile before the town we crossed a small stream which flowed into the [illegible] We
saw a couple of women driving kids into hats &
so we stopped & caught 2 individuals from them,
& preserved them. The main highway is 7 mi. from
San Jose de Saca. We went 5 to Aguesclia where
we went to the post office, had lunch, & did some
stuffing. Then we headed W toward Calvillo. 8
mi. from Calvillo we thought we saw a group of Red-
yagers Cantreds, 1 mi. further we saw a Raven & a Brown
Troster, 3 mi. further a Slurker. About 3 mi. from Calvillo
we saw a Vermillion Flycatcher, a flock of about 20
Barn Swallows & a Mockingbird. 1/2 mi. further we
saw Bristle R. Grackles & Dove Doves, just over
1 mi. from Calvillo we saw another Vermillion Flycatcher.
We crossed the arroyo to the NW of Calvillo & looked on
a dirt road to the NW (W of the rd. to La Labor).
About 2 mi. down this road we saw a Curve billed Thrush,
& 3 mi. further a Songbird. We camped about 6
mi. down this road (4 1/2 mi. NW Calvillo). We
saw another Songbird, around camp & I got an
cd. Raven. We set out traps at dusk. I set out
over 26 traps in lush areas including 2 Neotoma
