LIDICKER 1959 journal (Jul 22 cont.) resident Trogen - I heard first morning in camp & doubly scared. Red St. Helen - com. Acon Woodpecker - com. Dendrocopos sp. (Dave saw 1 + Ned saw 1 flying over & heard a possible note) Cassin's Kingbird - few Contopus pertinax - com. Contopus richardsonii - Ned shot 1 but did not save it. Ejitorox pulifrons - freq. Vermilion Flycatcher - species (only 1 seen) Violet-gr. Shallow - com over meadows Raven - heard croaking a no. of times Mex. Jay - com. Steller's Jay - NKT + DT (.1 species) Scrub-jay ? (WZL) - I saw in oak thicket Pine wolveren - NKT + DT Bust-fit (black-eared) - troops seen frequently WL-br. Nuthatch - com. Berwick's Warbler - few seen House Wren - seen seen Rock Wren - sev. seen on rim rock Canyon Wren - 1 heard singing from rim rock Curve-billed Thrasher - com. Robin - freq. esp. on higher slopes Bluebird (mostly W - at least some have white backs) Azure Throst ? wkb Nuttall's ? Vireo - 2 spec. ; sev. others seen. Painted Robastrit - sev. seen.
