Climbed rock up on mountain & set 42 traps among rocks
for Nelsonia. Found droppings on one rock which was apparently
Bassariscus. They were small, dark, & pointed, & contained fur.
& set at S[tr] Schyle - trap new where I found the droppings.
Went up an open grassy hill at dusk to watch for bats
At 2000 an Epileurus went our high but I saw it
too late. This was the only bat I saw in spite of the
fact that conditions seemed ideal - calm, not raining, &
not too cold. Had late dinner, after which I took some
more bait to one of my skunk sets. Dave went hunting
in Pm & shot 1 Sylvilagus floridanus (near a rock wall
up th canyon) & 1 Sciurus foliopus. On way up to
set traps in late afternoon, picked up 2 rat traps set
for Sigistda merinus. Both contained S. leucotis (#s
2104 & 2105). Were several rain showers during night.
