LIDICKER 1959 journal (July 19 cont.) the size of a large fox or coon; they were placed on rocks along the trail & contained many berries (marguinta?). Also set 4 rat traps for Sigmon in patch of brush grows up canyon from camp. After dinner set 35 traps in short grass on hill E of camp. Are scattered jimpas, small rats, marguinta, etc., but in general is very open. Also set 1 Schtyler along rocky outcrops below camp. Picked up both remaining gopher sets. Watched for bats from about 1945 to 2030, [illegible] from new crest of hill E of camp. Saw only 2 Eptesicus & got one of them. Both were flying very high. This was the first evening since the night we arrived in camp that there wasn't a light rain at dusk. There is a full moon & it is quite cold. Heard Por-wills & Whis-fur-wills calling abundantly. Autopsied Paromus difficult for reproductive condition which was to be thrown away: 8 cd. from July 18 - 5 ♂♂ - all with desc. tests 3♀♀ - 2 no amb, non-ferns imp. 1 '', , ferms (fairly recent fertus, but not lact.) 14 cd. from July 19 - 8 ♂♂ - all with desc. tests 1 ♂ - tests 11.5 mm + with scrotum, probably desc. class. 5♀♀ - 3 no amb, ferms imp. 1 w/o amb, otf. ferso, but with no pl. sacs, imp 1 '', , ferq., stern in thorx, wife full n gg.cl. 5 cd. caught by Dave during of July 19 - 3 ♂♂ - all with desc. tests 2♀♀ - 2 no amb, imp, non-ferns Several rain showers during night.
