1959
saw a number of night herds flying around (C. minor),
+ 2 large bats which flew by fast. ASL & Atton
reported a number of bats seen low over the
precincts. Ran trophies, lots of ants or crickets, but
no mice. I was with Ward when he shot a
gray squirrel out near 1/4 my trophies.
June 15
Checked traps, but left lines out. Got 1 badly
exten Paromys longi (saved only skull); shot 1 Chinchil
+ 1 Myotis californicus, no gophers. Skinned rock
squirrel shot yesterday the 2 birds, a chipmunk
collected by Miller + 1 of 2 Lepus guillelmi
shot by Taylor. Ran gopher traps in afternoon. Had
1 gopher. Scenting road near camp in clump of
wisteria on dead oak with 3 egg. Ward & I set
+ 2 traps for coyote near the precinct with a
girl all's carcass for bait. Since I was feeling
sick I rested for while before dinner. Retried
the 51 traps + hit rock about 2030.

Picked up traps except for 1 jar. I set traps around
a wood rat house. Catch: Paromys longi - 3
(1 too fast - return to save)

Picked up all gopher traps. Caught 2 more
