LIDICKER 1959 MVZ CHIHUAHUA - AGUASCALIENTES EXPEDITION June 10 - June 31 PERSONEL: A.S. LEOPOLD, W.S. RUSSELL, GEORGE BRYAN, DAVID TAYLOR, W.Z.L., & A.H. MILLER. June 10 Left Berkeley ~0530; av. Lindsay, Calif. to have lunch with Words & aunt's 1155. Arrived in Needles ~2215; checked into El Ranchos Motel & had swim before going to bed. Bryan arrived in his own car ~2400. June 11 Av. Needles 0700 after breakfast. So US65 to Vidal Jet. -> Eosp -> Wickenburg, Phoenix, Globe, to Lordsburg & finally Deming. Was very hot day. Checked into Plainsman Motel. June 12 Up at 0500, breakfast in Deming; continued E. Larra desert starts rather suddenly ~9 mi. W Las Cruces W of this point the were resquite thickets mainly soil also seem to get more gravel at this joint. S of Las Cruces saw a hawk with white rump, white wing lining with dark tips (possibly & marsh hawk). At Anthony saw 1 Marsh Hawk. Av. El Paso ~0830. After looking to consider 1 words & having lunch we went through customs. We managed to get "courtesy cards" instead of tourist
