LIDICKEN 1959 Set out 12 gopher traps (about 8 sets), 10 traps along boundary outcrop + 83 in chaparral. This is an area which seems very much like jacumba. Both species of Adenostoma are present, both comm. (the red-leafed species seems commoner in the lower spots). The chaparral is quite tall & +margarita fairly open. It was quite windy & the night was cold. I ran most of the traps after dinner. March 31 Catch: Dipodomys agilis - 2 Keithdomomys - 2 Paronypus tryllii - 2 (both on outcrop) P. maniculatus - 10 (5 of these thrown away - 3 ♀ + 2 ♂ - all seem sexually active) Paronycus californicus - 2 (1 on outcrop) Thomomys bottae - 1 After skinning catch, I filled up all gopher traps & caught 1 more T. bottae & c Dipodomys agilis. These last 2 we gutted before breaking camp. Birds were not too numerous. We noticed my Ravens, Oregon juncos, Scrub jays, Green- Wk Goldfinch & hardly House Finches. Nowhere along the stretch from Tijeras to Ranorozo did there appear to be good D. mariani habitat. Nevertheless, it is conceivable that they may occur rarely, or disperse things,
