Left Berkeley about 1800 & took US 101 down
Salina Valley. Camped on side rd. a couple
miles N of Atascadero.
March 29
Continued S on 101 after Redford - San Luis
Obispo. Just N of Carpinteria we saw:
Green-winged teal - 15 Japes (undent) - many
Coot - many Killdeer - 2
Stoveller - 10+ Amer. egret - 12
Saderling - 30+ Red-tailed Hawk - 2+
resident Cormorant - 6 House finch
Willet (?) - 1
Along coast between US Naval Air Missile Center
& Camillo Beach St. Pk. :
Dowitcher - 30+ Willet - 20+
Least Sandpiper - 1 8th Yellowlegs - 1
L. H. Curlew - 1 Bell-bib. Plover - 1
Matted Robin - 20+ Lesser Sandpiper - 20+
Egrets (Amer?) - 2 House Finch
