IDICKER 1958 the road about 100 yds. 5 of the set. Then we set about 212 traps + 4 gopher sets (8 traps) in the area from camp N to where the road crosses the trail (bridge our work). This is almost 2/3 of the way to Thing Ranch. We collected a few lizards while walking around. There was quite a bit of dipso sign especially along the rd. + on the edges of the sandy washes. At shot 1 goatucker + saw 2 others. We heard three calls frequently (a shot 2 started affair). We saw about 5 small bats but weren't able to collect any. Sept. 12 Got up early + finished up traps. Catch (S end Thing Valley): Dipostomp agilis - 8 + 1 tail tip Thoromops lotteri - 2 Peromysus sp.- 2 P. maniculatus - 15 Micrnotus - 1 One agilis which I caught was in a large open runway in -- a grassy + brushy area. Al caught the Microtus in marshy vegetation around a puddle in the wash. The 2 Peromysus sp. were in the chaparral around camp. Yesterday evening Al caught a Sylvis sp. in an old rotten log, Dick saw sev. Sylvilagus last evening. Left camp about 1300 after skinning animals. Hiked S on La Porte Track Trail
