(July 24 cont.) in Tepic & then continued N. At 8.2 mi N Tepic we saw our first Mexican Crow (2). At 23.1 mi N Tepic we saw a large cottonail run across the road. We saw another which didn't look quite so big 7.7 mi farther. 32.7 mi. N Tepic we stopped briefly & I [illegible]: Darby Decoteau resident gray flycatcher with white throat - peninsular White-collared Seedeater - singing blue-black Grosbeak - singing Kingbird Boat-tailed Grackle Mex. Crow resident green parrot .8 mi. further the road crosses the Rio Grande de Santiago. 8.3 mi N of this rio we saw our first Audubon's Caracara, a flock of white faced Parrots (PM) & an unidentified Oriole. 1.9 mi. farther we saw a red bell. Junco & another flock of parrots. At 10.6 mi N of rio - flock of Green Jays & an avi. .3 mi farther - blk. vulture, .2 mi farther - yellow-winged Cacique. 12.5 mi. N of rio the road crosses the Rio San Pedro. 10.6 mi. beyond this we saw a great blue heron & a killdeer. 1.8 mi. farther we saw 2 tree ducks & at 13.8 mi N of the rio a sealed Gnat. 2.7 mi beyond this we saw a red-winged and a flock of parrots which may have been Lilac-crowned (-red forehead & barred wing). 9.9 mi. S of the jet with Navy.12 I saw a large Jay which seemed to be either
