LIDICKER 1958 hwy oaks just E of Tepalitlan. We stopped to camp at 11 mi. SE Guadalajara in the same place we had camped 2 yrs. ago. This is .6 mi. E of Tatejocos & 4.5 mi. E of Tlaquepaque. It rained intermittently all afternoon & also most of night. During evening Naomi & I skinned our 4 Citellas from last camp. July 24 Saw Darby objects on airmail cover. Broke camp early & headed for Guadalajara .9 mi. beyond Tatejocos we saw a yellow headed blackbird. At camp we had collected 1 Burro & 2 small bugids. We spent about 1 1/2 hrs. in the main market of Guadalajara & then continued W. 19.2 mi. E of Amatitlan the road gets into 2nd growth pines & oaks - especially on the slope on south side of road. By 10.7 mi W Amatitlan, however, you get rid of most of the pines. 4.4 mi. W Amatitan we saw another large ground squirrel like the one seen yesterday near Jalostotitlan. .2 mi. further is km marker 1717. Tequila is 7.9 mi. by road W of Amatitlan, & Magdalena is 12 mi. beyond Tequila. At 3.2 mi E of Magdalena we saw a quail along the road which looked like a bob-white. At 10.1 mi beyond Magdelan we saw -- a white tailed hawk + sev. black vultures. At the jct. of the road to Jala (Nayrit) we saw lots of black vultures. We stopped for gas
