LIDICKEN 1958 (July 21 cont.) in the oak grove + also the 10 Rattus sets - in the rain. The spoke-feet were out in force + I easily picked up 10, most of which were calling from small pond ; one pair in pelvic amplexus was preserved. 2/2 were calling while floating in the H2O with hind legs sprawling. Sometimes they grasped veg. with their fore feet. Occasionally 2/2 moved about & investigated other individuals. These 10 were left in a plastic bag overnight [crossed out] + by morning many eggs had been shed, a few of which were preserved also. July 22 Catch : Paromyscus sp. - 4 (3 in oak grove - 1 picked up in evening + 1 in brushy area) Scaptioptes = 1 Storing these plus 2 rabbits ; gutted the ground squirrel.
