DICKER 1958 July 15 Catch: grassy & shrubby hillside - Perognathus - 3 + 2 tail wooded canyon - 1 Perognathus tail rock wall - Peromyscus sp. - 2 nothing in other lines Explored several cuencas in the bluffs along the W side of the valley for bats. Found some carnivore droppings, but no bats. Set out 40 traps on shrubby & grassy hillside with 2 broken down stone wall - a little S of camp. Put out 22 traps (including 3 rats) along a tall rock wall with 5 ft. tall herbaceous veg. along 1 side; 15 traps in shorter grass near plowed field; 17 traps in grassy & shrubby area near the river which had sandy & not gravelly soil. Total Traps = 94. Peter saw sev. C. variegatus. Much rain during night. Shot 1 Crexidoptera during day. July 16 Catch: 22 traps along road - Scaphiopus-? 40 traps on veg. slope - Perognathus (Chaetodipus) - 2 " " (florus type) - 1 Liomyx - 1 Nothing in rest of lines.
