(July 11 cont.) I skinned the 2 Paragettus caught the night before & then wandered around looking for suitable trap sites. Birds seen: Blue Grosbeak Arth. Goldfinch Black cr, Nt. Heron - 1 resident nt. Herons - 6 Yellowthroat - ser, & singing Empidonax sp. (land Bobwhite (very reddish side) Raven (with nearly fledged ygs) Blue Woodpecker Ladder-backed Woodpecker Curve-billed Thrasher resident Hummer Inca Dove Mourning Dove Berich's Wren - com. Bust of Quail Vermilion Flycatcher - com. Black Phoebe Say's Phoebe Meadowlark Shrike Brown Towhee Red St. Flicker Mockingbird Barn Swallow Eng. Sparrow Wh. w. Dove Mexican Duck - 2 Found a dead M. macroura megalotis which was much too far gone to save but I saved the skull. Peter shot a Wh. w. Dave which I skinned in the afternoon. We also saw, Sylvia sp. & 1 Lepus californicus. In late afternoon we heard a ground squirrel whistle, but couldn't locate it. I also shot a Mourning Dove & a Golden-fronted Woodpecker & skinned the M.Dav. Peter shot 2 more Wh w. Daves & skinned one. We also caught 2 Thrushes & -- shot a
