(Jun 21 cont) saw spectabilis rondo. About 45 mi S Villa At, saw 2 Swainson's Hawks, an [illegible] Golden Eagle, + a roadrunner. 9 mi further we saw a Prairie Falcon. We saw W. marobarz at 77x90 mi S Villa At. At 93 mi S another Swainson Hawk about v + at 100 mi S a roadrunner carry a lizard + a jr. A Canyon Thrasher, feeding fledglings, also jessably a thrasher. Dr Chichester was did a little stopping. She headed W toward San Morvelos + Cranktonce. About where rd to San Morvelos turns N we saw a burrowing owl. This was 1725- Continued thru Cranktonce W. About 7 mi beyond Cranktonce, we turned S on a dirt rd. into a small canyon + made camp. Set 48 traps along small gulch + up gravelly slope with grass + small shrubs (oak?) + a few small juniper - 2 small juns noted. June 22 Catch: Peromyscus truei - 1 (down N slope) R. singeloti - 2 - top 2 traps on slope. Camp is surrounded by low hills turned with scattered brush + a few trees (some pines). Are some plowed fields in bottom N valley. Set 29 traps along rd. + edge of fields at dips looking holes + in small rocky gulch with Western sign, etc. Also 58 traps in area with heavy small trees, oak, undent sp. A juniper (far) + grass
