Observation and Study of Mountain Chickadees nest, in an old Woodpecker hole about 7 feet up in an old snag.
10:32 A.M. Parent flew into the nest from the lower branch of a Lodgepole Pine a few feet from the nest with food in its beak. Flew out immediately.
10:35 Foraged in the Pine, and returned with food. Remained about 30 seconds.
10:39 Returned with food and left immediately.
10:41 Returned from twigs of the same tree after foraging and flew from the lower twigs into nest and out.
10:43 Repeated above.

Foraged in taller Lodge Pole just behind the nest
10:50 Returned with food and left in less than a minute.
10:51 Flew down to the ground, then foraged in several Pines across the road about 30 ft. away.
