Calif. I collected one from the top of a
5 ft. high stump to which it had just
run after scolding my approach with
and expressive "chip- chip-I-dl-churr
-chur-chur" -- lower pitched than the
similar note of C. amoenus. The
area is a flat about 2 acres in extent,
covered with open pine forest and
marganita & canotles shrubs (see Journal).
