Carpodacus cassinii
Sep.6-10 Red Mtn. ridge (nnw of peak) to S. Dubakella mtn.,
5200 - 5700 ft. 15-12 mi. 5 Kayfork, Trinity Co. Calif.
Regularly seen or heard flying over the open
pine forest along the ridges here. The
largest number seen at one time was 4 on
the 10th. None were heard singing, but
occasional single phrase warbles were
heard, similar to those given by C.
purpureus, but of simpler construction.
