Cogswell 1949 Icteria virens Aug 30 - 31 2/3 mi. N Willow Creek, 400 ft., Humboldt Co., Calif. 2 or more were heard in the thickets of Prunus recurvans, Rhamnus californicus, Salix sp., etc., along a small tributary stream in the Trinity River valley here. There are taller trees in an irregular woodland for- station nearby, but the chats stayed in the low thickets. The only call I heard them give was a loud "peek!".
