Cogswell 1949 Hylociclla guttata Aug. 20-26 French Camp, 3100 ft., Humboldt Co., Calif. I to several heard almost daily in the Douglas Fir forest surrounding the small dry grass area here. There are some large clumps of Tan oak or Chiquispin + some scattered Mangenta, which they also frequent; but they were seldom seen in the Incense cedars in the camp ground itself. Songs were heard at dawn on Aug. 22. I col. lected 1 individual on Aug. 25. Aug. 27 Goonbreek Canyon, 3 mi N. Willowbreek, 800 ft., Humboldt Co. Calif.: 2 were heard calling from Douglas Fir - Tan Oak - Madrone forest on N. facing slope. Sep. 4 Branen Mtn., 3600 ft., Humboldt G., Calif. - 2 were heard (
