Cogswell 1949 Troglodytes aedon Big Lagoon, Humboldt Co., Calif. Aug. 17 One was collected (not saved because mangled) from lower branches of 12 ft. high alnus rubra with nearby thickets of Baccharis pilularis, myrica californica, caprolbium angustifolium, & Rubus vitifolius. The location was at about 100 ft. alt. just E. of the highway about even with the N. end of the lagoon. Another was seen in the Pteris aquilina – Paul. theca shallow chaparral on ridge to the south of about location.
