Cogswell 1949 Hirundo rustica Aug. 9-19 Big Lagoon, Humboldt Co., Calif. Common. Seen mostly in flight over wet pastureland and marsh inland from SE end of the lagoon — or perched on telephone wires, etc. there. also noted near farm buildings at the end of road on W. slope of first ridge E. of the lagoon, alt. 550 ft. a dead young bird was found under the porch of the deserted house there. Sep. 8 S. Dubakella mtn., 5700 ft., 12 mi. S Hayfork, Trinity Co., Calif. 2 flew low along the ridge E. of the peak, pausing to circle about a rocky point on the barren ridge a few times then passing on to the South.
