Aug 8-19 Big Lagoon, Humboldt Co., Calif. Several (up to 25+ on 17th) on the main open lagoon or its sandy beach beyond it. None were seen in the marsh east of the highway bridge. Of those seen, adults seemed to be outnumbered by 1st-year birds.
